Talking art

Melanie Fioritto and John Chaich chat on February 19 at the kickoff party for Art/Action/ AIDS, a multi-media ad campaign that seeks to educate people about the disease through artwork.

Fioritto is the executive director of Cleveland Public Art, while Chaich, who moved to New York City last year, curates the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland's Art/Action/AIDS. This year's campaign, the second series of ads, billboards and postcards under the name, is aimed at educating women about the risk of infection.

The event was held at Gallery 1300 on Cleveland's west side, where another show, "I Dick," displayed artwork by women about men.
